copperbadge (copperbadge, copperbadge) had a compelling dream about an AO3 Random Work button, and sassysnowperson went ahead and made it a reality! Behold:

THE AO3 RANDOM WORK BUTTON

In Copperbadge's dream, the game was that whatever work you got indicated your new fandom assignment, but that's a bit of a steep ask. What if instead we used the random button to leave encouraging comments on random works?

I've been having a great deal of fun with this, even with all the 404s.

I think we can safely dismiss the fandom assignment aspect as part of demonic impersonater Astolat’s treachery 😆

That said, my first non-404 hit was a Batfamily fic, which is actually a pretty plausible assigned fandom for me (found family tropes are my kryptonite, I’ve been in comics fandoms before, and I know a few acquaintances who are in the fandom)

I LOVED the idea when I saw it on tumblr! Shame about the errors (and the sadness behind them, so many deleted works...) but the first fic I got was... dun dun dun...
