Yeah, I'm waaaay more interested in Katara/Toph than Aang/Toph; really not sure why the numbers break down as you say for those two. But your point about Suki is well-made. She is very much there as Sokka's love interest, and it shows. Mai is saved by her strong relationship with non-Zuko characters, even if her character is a bit of a puzzle at times.
