Yeah, people definitely react to feedback, even if they're not doing it super consciously. In my own writing it manifests itself in trying to cultivate a bouquet of content that mixes mainstream f/f with rarepair kink with bulkier mainstream m/m shipping so that I have a little bit of something for everybody, which pulls people to maybe read something they wouldn't otherwise read.
