Hmmm... I wonder if that affects the content in other ways as well. Like, this prompted me to go and look at my tiny old AO3, and if I narrow down by fandom and event, my fluff drabbles are sitting at the top for both hits and kudos(es?). One of the very topmost ones was in fact not even a full fic, but something I openly stated was an unfinished fragment from a fic attempt that didn't work out!

In my case I don't think it could have really affected what I wrote, because I never had the ability to write "to spec" even when I had the ability to write. But if my AO3 isn't an isolated anomaly...
